There have been more than 8 million illegal entries into the United States since Joe Biden was elected president. He appointed Alejandro Mayorkas as Secretary of Homeland Security, whose apparent prime directive was to destroy the southern border.

That task is precisely what Mayorkas has now accomplished. The result is that the border is neither “porous” nor “problematic,” but nonexistent, kaput, vanished—and by design.

In one of the most surreal experiences in the history of the United States, each night Americans see video clips of thousands of foreign nationals crossing the border en masse with complete impunity—as if the entire corpus of federal immigration law has been dynamited.

But by whom? And why?

As millions of citizens watch this travesty, they hear only from Mayorkas, Biden, and his Pravda megaphone, Karin Jean-Pierre, that the border is “secure”—a Baghdad Bob narrative that they know that we know is an utter lie.

Surely, this deliberate effort to destroy an entire border, to invite in millions of unchecked illegal aliens, and to violate oaths to execute faithfully the laws of the land are impeachable offenses for both Biden and Mayorkas. If not, what are?

Stranger still, Americans have no real idea why these revolutionaries are destroying our border.

Are they nineteenth-century anarchists who want to undermine the United States itself? Are they cynical “Demography is Destiny” and “The New Democratic Majority” leftists who need new dependent Democrat constituents to find votes for agendas that most Americans reject?

Do they want to create billions of dollars in new entitlements and subsidies to grow government, hike taxes, and make the upper middle class pay, as Biden puts it, “their fair share?”

Whatever the cause of this nihilism, there are at least 10 ways their open border is insidiously destroying the United States.

Legal immigration

Does legal immigration still exist? Are we still requiring those who would enter the U.S. legally to provide required documents, undergo audits, and complete background checks?

Is not the current policy de facto punishing those who follow the law by tying them up in bureaucratic red tape for years as we reward unlawful behavior by greenlighting amnesties for lawbreakers?

Is the Biden administration’s policy designed to deflect those from South Korea with MDs, or from Mumbai with PhDs, or from Taiwan with MBAs, by putting their applications on a slow, second-track pathway? Is DEI at work in the sense that America does not want here the accomplished who earned degrees and possess vital skills, as if they are thereby condemned as “privileged?”

Does Biden realize that his legacy of inviting in “surging” millions, in contradiction of the law, will soon erode all support for immigration, legal or otherwise?

Lawless US

Does the utter lawlessness at the border contribute to the general coarseness and current mockery of the rule of law in general—an epidemic that plagues our cities with homelessness, smash-and-grabs, car-jackings, and random assaults?

Is the rationale that if you can walk freely past border security guards, who cares whether you ignore a summons, throw away a traffic ticket, or skip reporting some income?

Dependency

If the first thing a foreign national does is to violate the law by crossing the border without permission, and the second is to reside illegally in the US, and the third is to apply for some sort of food, housing, medical, legal, or educational subsidy, then is that really the type of new resident we desire?

Apparently, what the United States does not want is the immigration model of old, one in which immigrants applied legally, came here lawfully through authorized ports of entry, and were self-supporting upon arrival.

In other words, it may be hard to shake from Biden’s likely 10 million illegal aliens their initial assumption that, 1) in America, the laws do not apply to them and, 2) their new naïve or guilt-ridden hosts, not themselves, are responsible for their welfare.

Cui Bono?

We suspect the Left and employers welcome illegal immigrants; the more en masse and without audit, the better.

But how do millions simply leave their homes, cross international borders, and get waved on to El Norte? What is the mentality of Mexico that facilitates this mass exodus northward from its neighbors and from itself?

Is Mexico a frenemy?

Do we even care that some $60 billion leaves the U.S. as remittances into Mexico, mostly by illegal residents here who are on state and local subsidies to free up their billions of dollars to support people inside Mexico that Mexico City has no intention of helping?

Is such a gargantuan cash outflow, then, Mexican socialist President Obrador’s cynical idea of payback for supposed historical Yanqui sins? Does he think a new, huge expatriate community will continue to lobby for Mexico to do what it pleases on our side of the border? Does illegal immigration warp U.S. foreign policy itself?

Cartels

Does anyone worry that among the millions moving northward are hundreds of Mexican cartel functionaries loaded with tens of thousands of pounds of dangerous drugs, fentanyl most prominently?

Do we even care that the U.S. is enriching the cartels through its tolerance of drug importation and alien smuggling? With open borders, are we not abetting the annual 100,000 or so deaths of Americans through overdoses, often by the counterfeiting of fentanyl to resemble less toxic illicit drugs and prescription tranquilizers, sedatives, and painkillers?

Is there any other enemy in the world—Russia, China, or Iran—that has helped kill more Americans than the cartels, along with the culpable Mexican government that deflects cartel criminality and violence northward?

Trashing Citizens

Illegal immigration is insidiously diminishing citizenship by equating illegal aliens with, if not making them preferable to, American citizens. Is there anything an illegal alien cannot do in Biden’s America—work in a campaign, vote in some elections, serve in the military, receive government subsidies? 2 NYC men charged with staging ‘at least 8’ bogus armed robberies all over the country for immigration perks

Two New York City men staged armed robberies at convenience stores and fast food joints across the United States to scheme immigration benefits, federal prosecutors said Friday.

Rambhai Patel, 36, and Balwinder Singh, 39, were arrested on Dec. 13 and both charged with one count of conspiracy to commit visa fraud for their alleged plot, which allowed the “victims” of their robberies to apply for special immigration visas, Massachusetts prosecutors said.

According to federal prosecutors, Patel and Singh orchestrated “at least eight” of the alleged staged robberies – which involved a “robber” threatening a store clerk with an apparent firearm before snatching cash from the register in front of a store’s surveillance camera.

The scheme, which began in March 2023, had the store clerks wait five or more minutes until the robber made their escape before calling the police to report the crime, prosecutors said.

The “victims” of the alleged robberies each paid Patel to participate in the phony antics – while Patel paid the store owners to use their shops for the staged robberies, according to prosecutors.

A man who came to the U.S. illegally and was subsequently deported four times allegedly killed a mother and her son in Colorado, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Jose Guadalupe Menjivar-Alas, who is from El Salvador, was previously deported four times after initially sneaking into the country undetected, ICE said. Menjivar-Alas, 37, was charged with vehicular homicide reckless, vehicular homicide DUI and habitual traffic offender after he allegedly crashed his vehicle and killed 47-year-old Melissa Powell and her 16-year-old son, Riordan, on Dec. 12, according to the Broomfield Police Department.

The accused has four convictions from Boulder County Court for alcohol-related driving offenses that occurred between 2007 and 2019, ICE said. A Boulder County judge had sentenced Menjivar-Alas to probation, community service and work release four days before his latest alleged offense, according to CBS News. “Sanctuary policies not only lack any public benefit but also contribute to an increase in crime against citizens. By giving sanctuary to illegal aliens, these policies inadvertently enable them to commit crimes without consequences. The safety of citizens must be our utmost concern,” retired ICE Denver Field Office Director and current board member with National Immigration Center for Enforcement (NICE) John Fabbricatore told the DCNF.

“The failures of Colorado’s sanctuary policies allowed a convicted criminal to stay in our local communities on probation, intentionally avoiding notifying ICE. If sanctuary policies were abolished, these unnecessary deaths could have been prevented. We must end sanctuary policy and secure the border now!” Fabbricatore, who is also running for Congress, said.

Mexican Drug Cartels Operate on Indian Reservations Near and Far from Southern Border

Indian reservations near and far from the Mexican border are actively targeted by drug cartels whose operations are facilitated by President Biden’s open border policies to traffic massive amounts of illegal drugs as well as people across the United States, according to alarming testimony delivered this week in a congressional hearing. Mexican cartels regularly use the porous 62-mile border between Mexico and Arizona’s Tohono O’odham Nation tribe to traffic illicit drugs and migrants then they haul their cargo north to rural Indian communities many miles away in Montana and Wyoming. The situation is so out of control that a congressional committee held a hearing this week to examine the impacts of international cartels targeting Indian country.

The committee chairman, Arkansas congressman Bruce Westerman, disclosed that cartels have established extensive distribution networks in communities to traffic dangerous substances into Indian communities, notably fentanyl and methamphetamine. “This has led to an increase in violence, crime, and drug overdoses that are ravaging communities across Indian country, particularly in Montana and Wyoming,” the legislator writes in the hearing memo. The sophisticated criminal enterprises, specifically the renowned Sinaloa and Jalisco Nueva Generación cartels, target reservations in rural areas where profits are better because drugs are sold at a higher price than in other parts of the country and the area is often not patrolled by law enforcement. “The impact of cartel activity is alarming among the Indian reservations in Montana and Wyoming and felt by every person in those communities,” the hearing memo states.

Many of the criminal treks go through the Tohono O’odham reservation which sits in the south-central Arizona Sonoran Desert and has about 34,000 members on both sides of the border. The reservation is about 2.8 million acres or roughly the size of Connecticut and terrain consists largely of mountains and desert making it difficult to patrol. For years the land has appeared on the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) list because it is a significant center of illegal drug production, manufacturing, importation and distribution. The reservation is a primary transshipment zone for methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and marijuana destined for the United States, according to the DEA. During the Trump administration sources inside the U.S. Border Patrol and other law enforcement agencies told Judicial Watch that the tribe banned National Guard troops deployed by the then president to help crack down on a crisis of drug smuggling and illegal crossings.

At this week’s hearing Tohono O’odham Chairman Verlon Jose complained that his tribe spends an average of $3 million of its own tribal funds on border security and enforcement. He also told the congressional panel that in 2023 the Tohono O’odham Police Department (TOPD) responded to over 100,000 incidents involving drug seizures, illegal immigration, and other border-related criminal activity. Additionally, the tribe’s law enforcement division has spent nearly $6 million on over 1,500 migrant death investigations and recoveries without any federal financial assistance. More money and police hours have been dedicated to investigating the impacts of drug trafficking, including overdose probes and other related training. “Criminal cartel activity has exacerbated the negative effect of drug and migrant smuggling on the Nation,” Chairman Jose said adding that “smugglers have held tribal families hostage, damaged and stolen property, and recruited tribal youth to engage in smuggling activity.” Before leaving, Jose told federal lawmakers that the border wall is “particularly ineffective in remote geographic areas like our homelands, where it can easily be circumvented by climbing over, tunneling under, or sawing through it.”

New Mexico Prosecutors: Migrants Gang Raped Deaf Woman in ‘Multi-Hour Nightmare’

Three migrant men from Guatemala have pleaded guilty or been convicted of gang raping a deaf woman after kidnapping her in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in June 2021. Another migrant, accused of being the ring leader, has since reportedly fled to Guatemala.

Oscar Rene Juarez Lopez, a 45-year-old Guatemalan national, pleaded guilty to rape and kidnapping and was sentenced to 20 years in prison this week, the Santa Fe New Mexican reports.

According to Deputy District Attorney Haley Murphy, Lopez, along with 26-year-old Owin Erlandi Lemus Cardona, 34-year-old Edward Climaco Velis, and 21-year-old Josue Donaldo Leon Cartagena — all migrants from Guatemala — forced the woman into a vehicle in the early morning hours of June 13, 2021.

The woman, according to Murphy, was then gang raped by the four men in a “multi-hour nightmare” where she was treated “like meat amongst a pack of wolves.” Some of the rape was filmed, according to prosecutors.

After gang raping her, the men dropped her off at her residence. The woman rushed to report the incident to police and take a sexual assault exam at a nearby hospital.

In February, Cardona was convicted of kidnapping, conspiracy, and criminal sexual penetration by a Santa Fe jury. He is awaiting sentencing and faces up to 43 years in prison. -- excerpt, rest at link above --

2 people in ICE custody after attempting to breach Virginia Marine base

The Marine Corps prevented two people from breaking onto a Marine installation in Virginia on May 3 and turned them over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The two people drove up to the Fuller Road Gate of Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, in a box truck and were stopped by military sentries, Capt. Michael Curtis, a spokesman for the base, said in a statement to Marine Corps Times on Tuesday.

“When asked, the operator of the truck informed the military police officers they worked for a company subcontracted by Amazon and were making a delivery to the U.S. Post Office located in the Town of Quantico,” Curtis said in the statement.

Because the two had no affiliation with the Marine base and no credentials to enter it, military police officers directed them to go to a holding area to undergo standard vetting procedures, according to Curtis. Biden breaks law to give millions of migrants work permits

The Biden administration is doing an end-run around the nation’s immigration laws — by giving migrants work permits in record numbers.

Since President Biden took office, more than 3.3 million migrants have been given a Employment Authorization Document (EAD), commonly known as the federal work permit, even though many didn’t even legally have the right to be America.

And as of February of this year, pending EAD applications stood at an another 1.4 million.

In many cases, migrants are given the right to work before they are even given asylum, a green card or other legal documentation that allows them to stay.

Not so long ago, the work permit rightly was considered an unwanted immigration “pull factor” and a key to managing immigration flows.

In 1996, the Immigration and Naturalization Service introduced a new rule: Asylum seekers had to wait 180 days before applying for work.

Asylum is meant for people fleeing legitimate claims of persecution, and aren’t just looking for better jobs.

Reviewing the previous year’s immigration statistics, then Immigration Commissioner Doris Meissner announced that new rules removing this “primary incentive” resulted in asylum claims dropping from 122,589 in 1994 to 53,255 in 1995.

“With this attack on fraud, we have closed a back door to illegal immigration” she added.

But Biden has chipped away at that six-month waiting period rule.

In a blizzard of rules and over 530 immigration-related executive actions — already blowing past the previous record compiled by Trump over 4 years — the Biden administration has expanded admissions or created brand new admission pipelines under eight distinct and significant programs.

These include population transfers from Afghanistan and Ukraine, “family reunification” programs featuring direct flights to the U.S. for those who qualify from Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, and Honduras as well as a separate direct- to-U.S. flight program from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela for those who may or may not have “family reunification” connections in the U.S.

For all others there is the CPBOne app, which allows foreign nationals to book an appointment online with U.S. border authorities. As of fall 2023, about 2.3 million had entered through these various programs, with only the most cursory of health and background vetting.

None of these programs confer lawful immigration status on the new arrivals, whose “twilight” status cannot lead to a green card or legal permanent residency. Most are entering under the wildly novel and likely illegal use of the administration’s “parole authority.”

Legal immigrants are being hurt the most by Biden’s policies

To illustrate the impact of this policy, consider that between 2013 and 2020, the immigration authorities granted parole to a mere 479 individuals crossing the border illegally, reflecting the case-by-case, emergency nature of the administrative tool.

In contrast, under the Biden administration immigration authorities paroled in nearly 700,000 illegal border-crossers in 2022-23.

Most have immediate eligibility for a work permit and a Social Security card.

In some cases, those receiving parole apply for asylum later, after already getting a work permit — nullifying the 180-day wait rule.

In 2022, 1.279 million work permits were handed out. By 2023 that number had risen to 2.139 million and 2024 is on track to break 3.3 million.-- excerpt, rest at link above --

Two cops were shot by a 19-year-old Venezuelan migrant early Monday when they tried to stop him as he was riding a motorized scooter — with one of the injured officers rendering aid to his partner since he was “more concerned” about him, according to police and sources.

The officers had tried to pull over the teen, identified as Bernardo Castro Mata, after spotting him driving the wrong way down a street at 89th Street and 23rd Avenue in Elmhurst at about 1:40 a.m., police said.

The suspect quickly ditched the moped and fled on foot for several blocks, according to cops.

During the pursuit, the teen allegedly pulled out an illegal gun and fired multiple rounds at the officers.

One of the officers, Christopher Abreu, 26, took a bullet to the leg while his partner, Richard Yarusso, also 26, was struck in the front of his bulletproof vest.

At least one of the officers returned fire and struck the alleged perp in the ankle.

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the cop shot in his vest “was more concerned about his partner” and frantically worked to apply a tourniquet to Abreu’s leg to stem the bleeding, Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry said. -- excerpt, rest at link above --
