Law enforcement source on the ground at the bridge this morning just sent me this video showing the situation there. I’m told a large majority of the migrants are Haitians and more are crossing into the US and arriving at the bridge by the minute. BP w/ limited manpower @FoxNews

123 Texas landowners agree to state building border fence on their property

AUSTIN, Texas — More than 120 landowners who live near the U.S.-Mexico border have agreed to let the state of Texas put up temporary fencing on their border-front property, the Washington Examiner has learned.

As of Wednesday, 123 people, most of whom live in Val Verde County, have consented to allow for an 8-foot-tall, barbed-wire metal fence to be erected at the edge of their property, according to a senior adviser to Gov. Greg Abbott. Eighty-two of the 123 people identified have signed agreements with the state’s military department, which is overseeing the process.

It is a major feat for Abbott’s administration as the governor seeks a third term. Getting the go-ahead from landowners will immediately allow the state to begin securing what is a vulnerable spot in its 1,250-mile shared border with Mexico. The remote region of south-central Texas, known by federal border authorities as the Del Rio region, has the third-highest total of illegal immigration nationwide, with 144,500 encounters of illegal immigrants between February and July.

The Abbott administration official said landowners, concerned about rising rates of criminal incidents on their property, initially sought out help from elected officials as the crisis at the border began six months ago. The decision to get landowners' permission to build was driven by residents' requests rather than the administration's initiative, the official said.

When asked if landowners are being compensated or incentivized in any way in return for their cooperation, Abbott spokeswoman Renae Eze said that they were not, adding that "the incentive is securing their land and our southern border."

The forthcoming border fence is intended to protect landowners and their property as more illegal immigrants who evade Border Patrol make it further into the country . Abbott in June directed state police to arrest and prosecute all illegal immigrants for trespassing.

Sheriff Brad Coe of neighboring Kinney County said his two deputies on duty each shift cannot keep up with the number of calls coming in as a result of human smuggling efforts. His staff has gone from encountering illegal immigrants once a weekend to up to five incidents per day along the county’s 60-mile border with Mexico.

CNN, MSNBC and the alphabet networks have all have ignored the massive invasion of illegal aliens touched off by the Biden administration's welcome mat. They, and their Democrat colleagues, do not want the public to see evidence of the 200,000 a month arriving. Fox News, to its everlasting honor, is covering the invasion thoroughly, and has been using drones to show the magnitude of the problem.

Until just a few hours ago.

On Tucker Carlson's top-rated program, news broke that the FAA has grounded the drone Fox was using at Del Rio to show at least 10,000 Haitians sheltering under a bridge on the U.S. side of the border:

Governor Greg Abbott today issued a disaster declaration in all 254 counties in response to severe winter weather that is impacting Texas. The Governor is continuing to deploy state resources available to assist local officials in their response efforts, and has ordered the Texas State Operations Center (SOC) to expand its daily operations to 24-hours a day through the end of next week.

"Texas should heed the guidance of their local leaders and stay alert to changing weather conditions in their area," said Governor Abbott. "These resources will help us respond to this severe winter weather and keep our communities safe. The State of Texas remains in close contact with officials on the ground and will provide any additional resources and support that are needed."

At the direction of the Governor, the Texas Division of Emergency Management has deployed the following state resources to support winter weather response operations:

• Texas Department of Transportation: Winter weather roadway preparation equipment and response crews as well as road condition monitoring.
• Texas Highway Patrol, Texas Department of Public Safety: Courtesy patrols to assist stranded motorists along major travel corridors.
• Texas Military Department: Winter weather equipment and personnel to support Amarillo, Wichita Falls, Abilene, Fort Worth, and Waco to assist in stranded motorist operations.
• Texas Parks and Wildlife Department: Four wheel drive vehicles and personnel to assist with stranded motorists along major travel corridors.
• Texas A&M Forest Service: Motor graders and personnel to assist with snow/ice clearance and saw crews to assist with removal of downed trees.
• Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, Texas Task Force 1: Search and rescue equipment and teams.
• Public Utility Commission of Texas: Monitoring and reporting of power outages and monitoring of any issues impacting the power generation capability in the state.

So....nobody mentioned to Abbott that there was a big storm coming and reminded him that his is governor of Texas and might want to make some preparations to protect the people he was elected to represent?

DEL RIO, Texas (AP) — The Biden administration plans on “massive movements” of Haitian migrants in a small Texas border city on flights to Haiti starting Sunday, an official said Friday, representing a swift and dramatic response to thousands who suddenly assembled under and around a bridge.

Details are yet to be finalized but will likely involve five to eight flights a day, according to the official with direct knowledge of the plans who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. San Antonio, the nearest major city, may be among the departure cities.

U.S. authorities closed traffic to vehicles and pedestrians in both directions at the only border crossing in Del Rio, Texas, after chaos unfolded Friday and presented the administration with a new and immediate challenge as it tries to manage large numbers of asylum-seekers who have been reaching U.S. soil.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said it was closing the border crossing with Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, “to respond to urgent safety and security needs.” Travelers were being directed to Eagle Pass, Texas, 57 miles (91 kilometers) away.

Haitians crossed the Rio Grande freely and in a steady stream, going back and forth between the U.S. and Mexico through knee-deep water with some parents carrying small children on their shoulders. Unable to buy supplies in the U.S., they returned briefly to Mexico for food and cardboard to settle, temporarily at least, under or near the bridge in Del Rio, a city of 35,000 that has been severely strained by migrant flows in recent months.
