Fed Up Texans Plan Protest Against ‘King Abbott’ The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 10, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the governor’s mansion.
Frustration over Gov. Greg Abbott’s mandates and executive order in response to the Chinese coronavirus are hitting a fever pitch, as citizens organize a protest at the governor’s mansion against “King Abbott” on Saturday, October 10.
“Tired of King Abbott’s lock down? Tired of masks and HIS control? THIS TYRANNY MUST END NOW,” reads the event flyer.
“If he wants our liberty…he will have to come right to our doors and take it himself. We can no longer allow him to steal our freedoms.”
Sponsored by “The Still-Somewhat Free Citizens of Texas,” the protest seeks out business owners, bar owners, salon owners, parents, and Texans at large who are frustrated with the shutdown orders and mandates that have originated from Abbott’s office since March.
Those slated to attend the event include Republican Party of Texas Chairman Allen West, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, State Sen. Bob Hall, former State Sen. Don Huffines, former State Sen. Konni Burton, former State Rep. Matt Rinaldi, and other grassroots leaders including Julie McCarty, JoAnn Fleming, Michael Quinn Sullivan, Mark Meckler, and others.

There is no justification for this lockdown imposed. Texans have never given the power to any governor as Abbott is displaying since 1873 when the abusive carpetbagger Governor Davis was knocked out of office and a new Constitution was written which severely weakened the governor's powers.
That Constitution is still in effect and Abbott has chosen to trample upon it.
My own answer is no. Guidance is fine. Voluntary self-isolation is fine, and strongly advisable for the more vulnerable. Most of them will do it by choice. But coercion is not fine. There is no moral or principled justification for it. Lord Sumpton

I think you are right @EdJames but unfortunately long planned family doings will prevent my physical attendance. You can bet I will be cheering the proceedings along!

I shudder at the thought of returning to that liberal hellhole, but I'll talk it over with my husband. I've made my feelings known to King Abbott is my many, many ignored emails. He needs to see a huge turnout.

That’s the intro of a new radio advertisement airing on multiple radio markets around the state, inviting Texans to come to Austin to protest Gov. Greg Abbott’s coronavirus mandates and demand that he fully reopen Texas.
“It’s time to end the lockdown and get back to our lives. Gov. Abbott, set your state free,” the spot says, while highlighting the openness of other states, such as Florida and Tennessee.
