Angry crowds took to the streets in West Philadelphia overnight after police shot and killed a man armed with a knife Monday, with some in the crowds throwing rocks and bricks at police and some looting or vandalizing businesses.

Riots breakout in Philadelphia after fatal police shooting

The Pennsylvania National Guard has been mobilized to Philadelphia as the city braces for a second night of protests Tuesday following violent confrontations between angry demonstrators and police hours after two officers fatally shot a Black man.

Several hundred Guardsmen will assist local agencies in "protecting life, property and the right to peacefully assemble and protest," Lt. Col. Keith Hickox said in a statement Tuesday. "We are able to conduct operations in support of civil authorities to enhance local law enforcement�s ability to provide continued public safety and critical infrastructure security."

The Philadelphia Police Department will also beef up its presence across the city in anticipation of possible unrest over the death of Walter Wallace Jr., 27, city leaders said.

We need Kyle Rittenhouse released from Illinois prison so he can help out in Philly.

My own answer is no. Guidance is fine. Voluntary self-isolation is fine, and strongly advisable for the more vulnerable. Most of them will do it by choice. But coercion is not fine. There is no moral or principled justification for it. Lord Sumpton

Didn't show what happened later on, but that lion roared pretty loudly and I would not be surprised if at the end of it all he broke a few more bones and heads as he went down. He was obviously trained while his opponents were not.

My brother the Marine says he could easily take on several untrained guys who attack him in a fair fight (ie no weapons). Yep to him a fair fight is him against several. And he stands only 5'6" but has told me numerous times he can kill you with his bare hands a dozen different ways.

He remains under detention and is now being extradited to face murder charges.

As to CNN reporting, it is very sloppy.

He is not facing charges he killed or wounded these people. He is not disputing that in the least.

He is instead facing charges of first degree murder and other lesser charges.

Vandalism string leaves thousands in Colorado without heat, hot water

A natural gas company is working to restore service to thousands of customers in Colorado following vandalism that damaged lines and forced gas to be shut off, leaving residents without heat and hot water.

According to a statement Monday from Black Hills Energy's vice president of operations, Vance Crocker, crews were working to bring more than 3,500 gas meters in Aspen back online, a process that �requires several steps."

�We must first make sure all gas meters are off, then purge the system so it�s ready for the reintroduction of the natural gas supply,� Crocker added. �Finally, our technicians will go door-to-door and relight each customer�s gas appliances.�

According to NBC�s Denver affiliate KUSA, Crocker said during a community meeting Monday that the process of restoring gas lines was expected to go into Tuesday, with 150 technicians deployed to work on the issue and 4,000 heaters being distributed during repairs.

The Aspen Times reported that gas lines across the city were found damaged, with the name of environmental advocacy organization Earth First! written on one pipe at one of three Black Hills Energy sites vandalized.-- excerpt, rest at link above --
