It appears this paragraph came from an opinion piece in The Atlantic and copied or paraphrased on other sites from a radio interview transcript from last month. The Atlantic piece partially gave the author�s personal opinions about the original radio interview content without context but with mistakes and misrepresentations.

So, as written, it is not true.

From the South Australian website, I find this is mostly true, and that tracking your location to ensure one is where one is supposed to be or face a compliance officer visiting your house will be undertaken

He came back at me today and clarified that this is mandatory for international visitors and certain other people who must be quarantined. For the general populace it is voluntary.

I told him sure, for now.
