Two school districts in Williamson County said they are going to keep requiring masks despite the county's attorney statement that the governor's order makes mask requirements by local governing agencies illegal.
County Attorney Dee Hobbs said in a statement Thursday that, according to the Texas Supreme Court, the governor's orders against mask mandates by state and local governing bodies are in effect until the court makes a final ruling.
He said people can send complaints about the mask mandates to his office at maskmandatecomplaints@wilco.org.
The county attorney's office had received four complaints about mask mandates at the Round Rock and Hutto school districts by Friday, a spokeswoman said.
"Current guidance from the Texas Education Agency is that mask provisions of GA-38 are not being enforced as the result of ongoing litigation," said Jenny Lacoste-Caputo, a Round Rock district spokesperson.-- excerpt, rest at link above --
