A California homeless man has been charged with arson in connection to the 1,158 acre brush fire in Pacific Palisades, on the west side of Los Angeles, which was 47% contained as of Tuesday night.
Ramon Santos Rodriguez was arrested Sunday when he emerged from the burned brush and was spotted by a private security officer who reported him to the police.
On Tuesday, the 48-year-old was charged with one felony count each of arson of a structure or forest and arson during a state of emergency, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
