Two Houston police officers were struck by gunfire Tuesday morning in southwest Houston, according to Police Chief Art Acevedo, and a suspect was taken into custody.
"We have had two officers struck by gunfire. Please pray! More to follow," Acevedo tweeted at 9:24 a.m.
The shooting occurred at 2600 Holly Hall Street south of the Texas Medical Center, according to HPD.
One officer was shot in the arm and the other officer was more seriously injured, according to sources. Both were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The officers were responding to a call this morning regarding a domestic dispute, sources said.
A suspect was taken into custody "without further incident" around 10:30 a.m. and transported to a hospital, police said. Sources say the 51-year-old suspect was taken to Ben Taub Hospital.-- excerpt, rest at link above --
