By now you probably know the Chinese spy balloon that, for some reason, was allowed to traverse the entire United States despite us knowing about it days ago, has been shot down.

Put simply, it was too little, too late for several reasons - and there’s been shuffling, specifically economically, by China over the last 10 years that shows the country’s aggression toward the U.S. could only be getting started.

First, China (and Russia) both now have a gauge of our reluctance to secure our own airspace. If the deployment of the balloon was to see how we’d react, they got their answer: slowly and uncertainly.

Second, if the balloon’s purpose actually was surveillance, and nothing more nefarious, it was likely able to get whatever data it set out for, after floating above numerous military installations.

Third, we have to be acutely aware of the potential for the balloon to be a test run for another balloon, many of which have speculated could be the means for an EMP:

High-altitude balloons, such as the one China has floated over mountain state military bases this week, are considered a key “delivery platform” for secret nuclear strikes on America’s electric grid, according to intelligence officials.

Spy balloons, used by Japan to drop bombs during World War II, are now far more sophisticated, can fly at up to 200,000 feet, evade detection, and can carry a small nuclear bomb that, if exploded in the atmosphere, would shut down the grid and wipe out electronics in a many-state-wide area.

You have to assume that China would know that this balloon - and the two other ones being reported (one over Latin America and now a third potentially outside the U.S.) - would be discovered. Additionally, there were reports yesterday that the balloons were maneuverable, ostensibly meaning the balloon had been directed on its path.

If this is the case, I have to believe it is either a test of how aggressively they could humiliate President Biden publicly (similar to how the Saudis did months ago), or it’s a distraction for something else going on. -- excerpt, rest at link above --

Another UFO has been shot down by the US Airforce and National Guard after more airspace was temporarily shut down.

It is the third such incident in three days, amid fears of possible foreign spying.

Senator Jack Bergman said he'd been told by the Department of Defense on Sunday that the military had "decommissioned" another "object" over Lake Michigan-Huron.

In a tweet, he added: "I appreciate the decisive action by our fighter pilots. The American people deserve far more answers than we have."

Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin said: "We’re all interested in exactly what this object was and its purpose."

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a notice at 11am local time, confirming flights in the area had been restricted for unspecified reasons.

Two hours later, it said the airspace was re-open.

The US and Canada have now brought down four high-altitude airborne objects this month, including one the US said was sent deliberately by China for surveillance.

The so-called 'spy balloon' is thought to have floated across 150 nuclear weapons silos at the Malmstrom Air Force Base, in Montana, and US Strategic Command, in Nebraska, which controls the country’s nuclear force.

It remained airborne from January 28 to February 4 and was eventually shot down off the South Carolina coast.

Three airports were shut and airspace was closed off the coast of North and South Carolina as the military carried out the operation on Saturday.

The military is recovering debris which is spread over seven miles, so they can investigate the balloon further.-- excerpt, rest at link above --

U.S. intelligence officials were tracking the spy balloon that was shot down earlier this month since it lifted off from the south coast of China, U.S. officials said Tuesday.

According to U.S. officials, after takeoff, the spy balloon drifted east in the direction of Guam and Hawaii and then went north to Alaska and entered U.S. airspace on Jan. 28. Given the path, it's possible that the balloon was blown off course by weather, but U.S. officials said that once it came south over the continental United States, it was being controlled by China.

China has insisted the balloon was for weather purposes and that it veered off course. A State Department official said in a statement last week that the balloon contained equipment that was "clearly for intelligence surveillance," including "multiple antennas" that were "likely capable of collecting and geo-locating communications."

Pentagon officials confirmed on Feb. 2 that they had been tracking the spy balloon, and said they did not want to shoot it down given the damage the debris could cause. Following the announcement that the U.S. was tracking it, the balloon stopped loitering and proceeded as fast as it could toward the East Coast, a U.S. official said. A U.S. fighter jet shot down the balloon off the coast of South Carolina on Feb. 4.

China said on Monday that the U.S. has flown more than 10 surveillance balloons over their airspace in the past year, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin saying it is "common for U.S. balloons to illegally enter the airspace of other countries." The U.S. has denied operating any surveillance balloons over China.

When news broke about the Chinese balloon flying over U.S. airspace, Secretary of State Antony Blinken postponed a planned trip to China. When asked on Tuesday if China is undermining diplomatic relations, State Department spokesman Ned Price said China is "operating from its heels at the moment."

Meanwhile, the White House said Tuesday that there is "strong consideration" the other three objects shot down over the weekend over the U.S. and Canada were "benign." But it won't be certain until the debris is recovered and analyzed.-- excerpt, rest at link above --

Remember the Chinese spy balloon fiasco? President Joe Biden allowed his nation’s top geopolitical foe to fly a massive spy-craft over the entire continental United States. In the end, the only retribution exacted was to shoot it down after it had completed its mission and transmitted its data.

It was an embarrassing scene, with the president’s indecisiveness on full display, and that meant the White House had to do something to change the subject. That came by way of a Pentagon official speaking on background to a group of reporters, claiming that three Chinese spy balloons traversed the United States during the Trump administration.

The suggestion was clearly that Trump was a coward who had let the Chinese run over him. It was only later that it was revealed that the balloons in question were only over US territory for a matter of minutes (one of them off the coast of Hawaii) and that their presence wasn’t even discovered until years after Trump left office.

The Pentagon refused to identify the official who gave the misleading commentary to the press, but two Republican senators have discovered who he is. That comes via The Washington Free Beacon.

Pentagon official Colin Kahl leaked classified information about the Chinese spy balloon to deflect blame about the Biden administration’s mishandling of the situation, according to two Republican senators.

Kahl, whom President Joe Biden appointed his under secretary of defense for policy, provided reporters with classified information—disclosing that CCP spy balloons may have infiltrated the United States during the Trump administration—Sens. Roger Wicker (R., Miss.) and Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) allege. This is the first time that Kahl has been named as the source of these leaks, which were provided to reporters and appeared in news stories at CNN, Bloomberg, and the Washington Post, in an apparent attempt to shift blame away from Biden after the administration allowed the Chinese spy balloon to traverse the entire United States before shooting it down. While doing so, he omitted the fact that the prior Chinese balloons were only discovered much later and the Trump administration did not have an opportunity to respond at the time.

Colin Kahl is a particularly nasty partisan who has apparently appointed himself a protector of the man who appointed him. There’s a reason no Republicans voted to approve his nomination. He purposely misled reporters, making them believe that Biden’s inaction on the spy balloon issue wasn’t unique. In fact, the entire point of the leak was to make it seem as if the president was more proactive than those who preceded him.

Well, well, well. The world seems amazed at the news that the Chinese spy balloon that meandered over the entire continental United States this winter was, you know, spying. That’s what spy balloons do: they spy. They collect intelligence — in this case, information from some of America’s most sensitive sites (I was going to say “secure sites,” but that would clearly be inaccurate). What do they do then? Like bees collecting pollen, they transmit what they collected back to the hive, which, mirabile dictu, just happens to be located in Beijing.

Anyone who was paying attention knew this. Did secretary of state Antony Blinken? Did puppet-in-chief Joe “Chocolate-Chip” Biden? Probably. But there is knowing and then there is knowing. The latter includes acknowledging what you know, which neither they nor SecDef Lloyd “Stand Down” Austin nor chair-entity of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark “White Rage” Milley did.

Nope, it was ostrich time all around — by which I mean that our heads were buried in the sand. Which is why the NBC report that — can you believe it? — Beijing’s spy balloon was not only collecting secrets but also transmitting them back to Comrade Pooh-Bear Xi caused a little ripple in the pond of public complacency yesterday. “Chinese spy balloon gathered intelligence from sensitive US military sites, despite US efforts to block it.” You don’t say?

China was able to control the balloon so it could make multiple passes over some of the sites (at times flying figure-eight formations) and transmit the information it collected back to Beijing in real time… The intelligence China collected was mostly from electronic signals, which can be picked up from weapons systems or include communications from br personnel, rather than images.

Why did Biden, or whoever makes his decisions for him, wait for the balloon to complete its trek across the US before shooting it down? “Oh, we were worried about wreckage hurting people below,” said these clowns. The balloon was detected on January 28, over some remote vastness, and it several times passed over desolate, unpopulated areas. So that was a lie. And note that the only reason the public knows about the balloon is because some public spirited person in Montana saw and reported it. Otherwise the Biden administration’s vow of omertà when it comes to national security would have been in force to this day.

Everyone knows the movie The Manchurian Candidate. During the Korean War, a US solider is captured and taken to Communist China where he is brainwashed and programmed to kill upon being given a certain signal. Is Joe Biden the Manchurian Candidate?
