If free speech is a pillar of democracy, then Twitter should be charged with sabotage, because they've taken sledgehammer to it. And every American has the right to be absolutely outraged.

The latest 'Twitter Files' drop on Thursday night revealed that partisan extremists at one of America's most influential social media platforms wrapped a torniquet around the vein of free thought and wrenched it tight.

And to add insult to injury, the whole time, Twitter was lying about it.

Then-CEO Jack Dorsey told Congress that he had no idea why conservatives were moaning about being silenced – a.k.a. 'shadow banned.'

Well, guess what? Conservatives were right.

We learned that in addition to shutting down bombshell reporting, like the New York Post's exclusive on Hunter Biden's laptop, Twitter executives were also suppressing individual Americans who didn't blindly parrot liberal orthodoxy.

The account of Stanford professor, Dr. Jay Battachyara's was muffled for sharing thoughtful criticism of COVID lockdowns.

America's kids were kept out of school and in masks. Businesses were destroyed and churches shuttered, and our dying were kept from seeing family, but Twitter pronounced these ideas verboten.

No wonder famously unprofitable, woke Twitter had trouble making money.

They censored anything that was even remotely interesting.

Former President Donald Trump was banned from Twitter the day after former first lady Michelle Obama and others demanded the company "permanently" remove him, according to the newest "Twitter Files" installment.

On Saturday, CEO Elon Musk and journalist Michael Shellenberger released the fourth batch of Twitter documents that show internal communications by the company’s executives between Jan. 6-8, 2021, including and shortly after the riot at the Capitol Building.

Among the files, Shellenberger reported "internal and external pressure," including from the former first lady, fell onto the company calling for Trump to be banned from using Twitter.

"Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior—and go even further than they have already by permanently banning this man from their platforms and putting in place policies to prevent their technologies from being used by the nation’s leaders to fuel insurrection," Obama wrote in a lengthy statement posted to Twitter on Jan. 7.

On Friday, Joe Biden traded the “Merchant of Death” for pot-smoking America-hating WNBA star Brittney Griner.

WNBA star Brittney Griner was found guilty of drug smuggling with criminal intent in a Russian court back in August. Russian prosecutors pushed for a sentence of 9.5 years in a penal colony.

Russia released Brittney in exchange for international arms dealer Viktor Bout.

Twitter owner Elon Musk has targeted former White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci in a pair of viral tweets on Sunday, including one that appears to call for legal action against the man who has been a lightning rod of criticism over COVID-19 lockdowns.

In one tweet that at the time of reporting had over 1 million likes, Musk said: “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci,” suggesting action in courts involving the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

A Twitter user asked Musk whether his “Prosecute/Fauci” comment would be explained in a future episode of the so-called “Twitter Files,” or internal communications among Twitter staffers that Musk has described as an expose of the social media giant’s “free speech suppression.”

“Yes,” Musk replied.

The new Twitter chief wrote this weekend that he would release more Twitter Files on the previous management’s communications with federal health officials over how to deal with claims about COVID-19 rules and vaccines.

Some time after Musk took over Twitter, the company announced it would no longer enforce its policy against so-called COVID-19 misinformation.

The social media giant has faced criticism over its suppression of voices in the COVID-19 response debate who questioned the need for widespread lockdowns and other non-targeted measures.

‘Just One More Lockdown, My King…’

Fauci, who is preparing to step down from his government posts in December, faces the prospect of being asked to testify in a potential Republican probe into the origins of the COVID-19 virus and pandemic restrictions in the United States, including lockdowns.

In another tweet, Musk shared a meme comparing Fauci to Wormtongue, a “Lord of the Rings” villain who whispered into another character, King Théoden’s, ear and kept him under a wicked spell.

The meme Musk posted features Fauci’s face edited onto Wormtongue’s and President Joe Biden’s face in place of the king’s.

Until he quit a month ago, Yoel Roth was Twitter’s head of trust and safety — or, shorn of euphemism, its chief censor. As Elon Musk has trickled out his “Twitter Files,” Roth has featured as the single biggest figure in them.

On Dec. 2, Matt Taibbi revealed Roth’s internal justification for suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop, which cited the “lessons of 2016” (evidently, when news spreads online it can hurt Democrats). Bari Weiss’s Twitter Files follow-up on Thursday revealed even more, including Roth’s membership on a secret executive team for censoring the largest accounts, and his general support for suppressing anything that “causes harm”– that is, causes harm to the Democrats and their allies in the national security state.

My colleague Bonchie wrote Thursday evening about the suspension of journalist Aaron Rupar’s Twitter account, and already more suspensions have been handed down as the night progresses. Locked out of their accounts: bombastic critic-of-everything Keith Olbermann, New York Times technology reporter Ryan Mac, CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan, and Mashable writer Matt Binder. Independent journalist Tony Webster’s account was also suspended as of Thursday evening, as was Intercept reporter Micah Lee’s.

Olbermann’s toxic personality cost him his gig at MSNBC, and he’s famous for posting racist tweets (and then deleting them), calling everybody who doesn’t agree with him a fascist, and generally being a cranky, seemingly-unhinged flamethrower. News organizations are scrambling to respond to Elon Musk’s suspension from Twitter of prominent journalists whose coverage he objected to.

On Thursday, Twitter suspended CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan, the New York Times’ Ryan Mac, and the Washington Post’s Drew Harwell, as well as liberal commentator Keith Olbermann and reporters from Mashable and the Intercept.

News organizations are now considering a range of options to respond, people familiar with their conversations said. They range from pulling coverage from Twitter, as CBS News did briefly in November, to retaliating against Twitter’s advertising business: CNN executives have discussed whether their corporate parent, Warner Media Discovery, would stop its advertising on the platform.

News organizations have also discussed dropping out of the Amplify program, in which they post videos to twitter and share in the revenue, or simply asking their staffers to stop contributing to the service.

NBC News, meanwhile, has responded by suspending one of its journalists who has reported on Twitter and been harshly critical of Musk. NBC News temporarily suspended tech reporter Ben Collins from NBC and MSNBC airwaves.
